Abstract: Hiring today is largely unsuccessful. Only 11% of individual hires are ultimately successful when measured by early turnover. A focus on technical competency and inferior information transfer during the hiring process represent major causes of failure. Hiring that focuses on the personal characteristics of applicants fares far above average. Today, the use of assessments has grown dramatically including many new tests that have been developed to aid the assessment of personal traits that impact employee hiring success. Many of these test assessments have been proven to significantly aid in hiring accuracy.
